Their Managing Director wrote the following reference for us:

“We have found the food to be of a consistently high standard, served by competent and professional staff. The food that they serve is always well presented and well received. We anticipate a long and happy partnership with Cloverdale and on the basis of our experience would highly recommend them for any catering requirements”.

Towcestrians Summer Ball for 800 people with full service.

In 2009 one of our larger events was the Towcestrians Summer Ball. We served a multicourse hot menu to 800 people. Our whole work force was involved and we additionally engaged 20 temporary waiting staff to compliment our own.

A lady present on the day sent the following letter:

“I was at the ball on Friday night and felt that I should tell just how good the food was. Both the quality and the service of it were great. It was no mean feat serving that number of people but it was great that our main courses were all served together and all the vegetables came out so soon after. I though the starter and the pudding were lovely as well.

I always go to the ball and to be honest, don’t expect the food to be up to much. Last year’s was dreadful, so I wasn’t expecting wonders this year, but was really impressed by it all.”

We were honoured to cater for Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark during her visit to Northampton in August 2012. Her visit, which was to mark the strong trade links between Denmark and Northampton, began with a Drinks Reception at the Museum and Art Gallery where we served to Her Royal Highness and Guests a selection of Cloverdale Canapés and Wines. Her Royal Highness then went over to the Guildhall where we served her a two-course hot lunch from our popular selection of hot menus.  Her Royal Highness, who is a cousin of The Queen, followed this event with a re-visit to the Carlsberg Brewery which she opened back in 1974.

Large event catering at the Derngate Theatre with full service.

The event took place in the Derngate Auditorium which is transformed for such occasions by installing a false floor above the stalls to create a large area which can accommodate numbers of up to 1,150 guests. Lighting effects complete this striking transformation of the venue.

2014

Corporate lunches for a single client with 1000 guests on one weekday.

We deliver corporate lunches daily around the county and beyond and had been doing so many years. Some days the overall total can be very high although a typical single order is only for around a dozen people.  Our fleet of refrigerated vans radiate in all directions each day doing numerous drops. However, on one weekday back in 2014 a single company ordered a regular corporate finger buffet lunch for no less than 1000 people!

We took this to a business park in Warwick which is well outside of our usual radius for daily deliveries. The food was presented on 30 large tables in a huge, air-conditioned venue.  Another 10 tables accommodated the drinks. The internationally based client was clearly impressed on the day and we received very positive feedback on the quality of the huge spread.

2015
Third of succession of multiple Christmas Dinners at The Guildhall during December.

Following the great success of the full-service Christmas dinners during 2013 and 2014 at the Northampton Guildhall, we went on to complete another series of parties throughout December 2015.

We received very favourable feedback each year and 2015 was no exception. One thank-you was as follows:

“I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful night out at the Guildhall yesterday evening. All the staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful from the security on the door to the bar staff and waiting team.  The venue looked superb as did the food. It was by far the best Christmas meal out I have had including venues in Central London”

2016

First opening of new coffee shop in the Priory Country Park (Ongoing).

In June 2016 we designed and fully-equipped a completely new café in the beautiful Priory Country Park in Bedford. The location is both a wildlife park and a centre for various water sports and has open grasslands, wooded areas and lakes. We named our cafe the Cloverdale Retreat Coffee Shop. It benefits from panoramic windows and our 2017 installation of a large decking area overlooking the main lake. We have received many excellent comments from visitors the number of which have increased year by year.

One customer said:

“Came in for a coffee and cake with my friend after having a chilly but wonderful walk around the lake. The staff were pleasant and helpful as I have a severe dairy allergy. The young girl out front was very attentive and brought out the chef who then went through the allergen list and catered to my needs. The café had several full tables but service was still very swift. A party of 5 got their food altogether, which I found very good as you don’t get this with most cafes or restaurants. I had a soya tea and a ham salad sandwich on brown bread, which was presented lovely. The café was clean and welcoming with pleasant service and a smile. I had a lovely chat with the manager who was very bubbly. I would recommend the Cloverdale Retreat to anyone who wants coffee and food with a nice view of the lake.

1986 – Present

Catering for numerous weddings

From 1986 to the present time, we have catered for numerous weddings. Although we have expertise in many aspects of catering, weddings are probably our forte. It is not practical to list weddings here but we must say that they leave many special memories behind for both our clients and ourselves.

We have received countless ‘thank-you’ letters over our long history. A couple are as follows:

“Dear Glenda

What a professional job you and you team did for Beccie’s Wedding on Saturday. We do thank you most sincerely for your enormous contributions in making the day such a huge success. It was a fairytale in fact and Beccie and Ted rang from the airport to say it was literally the best day of their lives and the Wedding of their dreams – who can ask for more. Please would you pass our thanks on to your “girls” and to Roger who could not have worked harder. He was so attentive and conscientious. Well done for masterminding the whole thing Glenda. It was perfect.”

Jennie Wills

“Dear Glenda

May I thank you and team for providing us with such superb service last Saturday. You were all most professional. The smooth running, friendliness and efficiency of your staff made for a most enjoyable and relaxing Wedding Reception. The food was absolutely delicious.”
